CB’a Memac opens in Dubai

May 2008

Dubai, being the huge oasis of luxury, and the hub of growth and innovation that it is, could not fail to captivate CB’a Design Solutions.

Continuing their strategy of international development, the end of May 2008 saw the opening of the agency’s first office in the Middle East. In collaboration with advertising agency Ogilvy Memac, which has established a presence across the MENA zone (Middle-East-North Africa) over the last 25 years, this new venture has been baptised CB’a Memac. The meeting of minds between Louis Collinet (chairman of CB’a Design Solutions) and Eddy Moutran (CEO Memac) is based on the history of a shared philosophy. It’s a joint venture for which the men’s style and the hindsight of experience count every bit as much as the actual professional project. This project is a combination of in-depth awareness of the local market, and that extra French touch that the agency has honed during the course of more than 26 years of experience, thanks to which it has built up an impressive reputation in all areas of design: packaging, branding, visual identity, architecture, retail and digital design.

It is precisely this approach, and these areas of expertise, together with Memac’s extensive experience in the field of advertising and promotion, that will make this new alliance an unbeatable partnership in the exciting local market.
It will be CB’a Memac’s task to attempt to win over the Dubai market, a strategic choice, selected especially for its strengths in international retail, placing it ahead of China, Russia, Singapore and the US. To which you also have to add the emirate’s aspiration to become the world’s number one tourist destination, and its plans for the new Design Museum… It’s a springboard for the other emirates, Gulf countries and the whole of the MENA zone, where CB’a Memac already has a very promising portfolio of clients in the consumer goods and property markets.

Blessed with a strong marketing structure and creative autonomy, as well as its multicultural background, CB’a Memac will be working closely with the Paris office, a number of whose resources it will be able to tap into: marketing, strategic planning and design. With 10 members of staff a month after opening, it will need to grow quickly to fulfil its potential for its anticipated rapid growth over the next 5 years. Without losing its key values: an in-depth awareness of the market, combined with unique creative vision.
